3 Cost Effective Ways to Solve Metro Manila's Traffic Problem

Image
The Facebook page of ANC 24/7 is asking for its reader's suggestion on how to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem. This got me thinking, "what is the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem?" It's easy to make suggestions, what's hard is the implementation and the cost of implementation. So what is the the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem and the most cost effective solution? Punitive Fines Add caption First of all, any implementation will definitely cost money, a lot of money. The cause of the traffic mess is the people themselves so it's only right that those causing the traffic problem should be fined and the fine should hurt. That way, the fines will pay for the cost of enforcing the law. The fines should start at P500 and goes up every week if you don't pay it within 15 days. To enforce this and prevent people from ignoring the fine. It will be tied to their driver's license or car registr...

On October 28th Steve Jobs' envisioned yacht Venus was unveiled in Aalsmeer, The Netherlands. According to reports , the roughly 80-meter long hull of the ship is made completely of aluminum, while huge plate windows adorn the wheelhouse, saloon and main deck entrances, giving the ship a clean, open appearance. Continuing the spartan styling inside, the wheelhouse uses seven 27-inch iMacs running navigation, systems control and other seafaring software to assist in operating Venus.

Steve Jobs' Vision of the World

Image
This video was taken from the Steve Jobs' documentary titled "One Last Thing". The world as Steve Jobs saw it: When you grow up you tend to get told the world is the way it is and you're life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again.

Thank You Steve

Steve Jobs passed away yesterday, October 5, 2011. He was 56 years old. The Internet was abuzzed with the news of Steve Jobs death. A lot of famous people commented as well like Bill Gates, Sergey Brin and Mark Zuckerberg. Some saying that we love a great leader and visionary. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg even compared him to Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein. Of course, with all the praises also comes the haters. With people wondering why they are treating him like a god and that it's ridiculous to compare him to Edison or Einstein. That Steve Jobs was not a great inventor but just a great marketing guy. I feel sad on Steve Jobs' passing. It may be funny to think about. I personally do not know the guy nor have I met him. My only connection to him is the Apple products we have and what I read about him. I remember when I first saw the news. I just got home and when I opened up my computer, the first news I read was Steve Jobs has passed away. I was shocked! I ...

Comments On The Passing Of Steve Jobs

After the news of Steve Jobs' passing. A number of his contemporaries commenting on his passing including Bill Gates, President Barack Obama and Disney President Bog Iger. Bill Gates offers his condolences (via AllThingsD): I’m truly saddened to learn of Steve Jobs’ death. Melinda and I extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone Steve has touched through his work. Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives. The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely. Google’s Sergey Brin just posted this statement on Google+: From the earliest days of Google, whenever Larry and I sought inspiration for vision and leadership, we needed to look no farth...

Steve Jobs and Bill Gates Together

Image
You've all probably heard by now that Steve Jobs has retired as CEO of Apple. In a tribute to the retirement of the two most innovative founders of the computer industry, I've pulled up some video of a history interview with the two giants in the industry. Here is an interview with Steve Jobs and Bill Gates at All Thing Digital 5. This interview was two years before the iPad came out. In this part of the video, Bill Gates was asked if he was using a tablet device. Steve Jobs starts swivelling his chair and biting his lip. He eventually said that the PC has been a resilent device. Now that we have the iPad, it's amazing to see how much Steve Jobs was trying to hide the fact they were already working on the iPad.

Steve Jobs Presents Spaceship Campus

Image
Steve Jobs is presenting to the Cupertino City Council Apple's plan to build a spaceship like campus that will hold up to 12,000 employees. The new campus when completed would consist of 80% landscaping. Apple is planning to supply their own power to the building with the city grid as backup. The whole building will be made of curved all around and there would be no straight piece of glass in the whole building. It will be four stories high to preserve the "human scale" of the campus. Here's the video.
