3 Cost Effective Ways to Solve Metro Manila's Traffic Problem

The Facebook page of ANC 24/7 is asking for its reader's suggestion on how to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem.

This got me thinking, "what is the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem?" It's easy to make suggestions, what's hard is the implementation and the cost of implementation. So what is the the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem and the most cost effective solution?

Punitive Fines
First of all, any implementation will definitely cost money, a lot of money. The cause of the traffic mess is the people themselves so it's only right that those causing the traffic problem should be fined and the fine should hurt. That way, the fines will pay for the cost of enforcing the law.
The fines should start at P500 and goes up every week if you don't pay it within 15 days. To enforce this and prevent people from ignoring the fine. It will be tied to their driver's license or car registration. They cannot renew their d…

A lot of things have been brewing with Apple computer this past year. First the Intel Macs announcement, then they shipped the Intel Macs several months ahead of schedule and with dual core CPUs!

Yesterday, Apple announced the beta release of Boot Camp. It allows you to dual boot OS X and XP. Unlike the OnMac solution, Boot Camp comes with a graphical setup and with no need to reformat your hard drive. It also i…
Here's something from the Phil. Daily Inquirer.

Senators calls for GMA to do a Thaksin. To do the honorable thing and resign as the Prime Minister of Thailand did due to protest on grounds of non-payment of taxes.

Here's what the Palace officials said on why GMA would not follow on Thaksin's footsteps.

"(Thaksin's case) has something to do with graft and corruption or non-payment of taxes. The charges against the President came out only when the wiretapped conversation of the President [surfaced] and the discussion became broader. The President has legitimate mandate and she will serve until her time is up," Ermita said."

Ermita said the President might have been an adherent of Thaksinomics (Thaksin's economic strategy that has propelled Thailand's economy to higher levels), but "it does not mean that she was bound to follow what her mentor did."

Claudio said the peaceful change in Thailand's leadership would boost the Arroyo administrat…
