The Facebook page of ANC 24/7 is asking for its reader's suggestion on how to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem. This got me thinking, "what is the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem?" It's easy to make suggestions, what's hard is the implementation and the cost of implementation. So what is the the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem and the most cost effective solution? Punitive Fines Add caption First of all, any implementation will definitely cost money, a lot of money. The cause of the traffic mess is the people themselves so it's only right that those causing the traffic problem should be fined and the fine should hurt. That way, the fines will pay for the cost of enforcing the law. The fines should start at P500 and goes up every week if you don't pay it within 15 days. To enforce this and prevent people from ignoring the fine. It will be tied to their driver's license or car registr
Here's something from the Phil. Daily Inquirer.

Senators calls for GMA to do a Thaksin. To do the honorable thing and resign as the Prime Minister of Thailand did due to protest on grounds of non-payment of taxes.

Here's what the Palace officials said on why GMA would not follow on Thaksin's footsteps.

"(Thaksin's case) has something to do with graft and corruption or non-payment of taxes. The charges against the President came out only when the wiretapped conversation of the President [surfaced] and the discussion became broader. The President has legitimate mandate and she will serve until her time is up," Ermita said."

Ermita said the President might have been an adherent of Thaksinomics (Thaksin's economic strategy that has propelled Thailand's economy to higher levels), but "it does not mean that she was bound to follow what her mentor did."

Claudio said the peaceful change in Thailand's leadership would boost the Arroyo administration's efforts to change the Constitution and shift to a parliamentary form of government.

Did I read that right? Ermita said that Thaksin's case has something to do with non-payment of taxes and the charges against the President came out only when the wiretapped conversation suffaced?

So the fertilizer scam, the over-priced Northrail project, the over priced Diosdado Macapagal Blvd, Proclamation 1017 and election fraud was nothing compared to non-payment of taxes!?!

I guess you can put a spin on anything.
