Perfecto De Castro Amazing Filipino Guitar Artist

Perfecto De Castro is the quintessential guitarist’s guitarist. Well-versed in a multitude of musical styles, his affinity with the instrument is evident in everything he does; from unleashing an emotion-laden solo with an overdriven electric guitar, to navigating complex musical counterpoint on his 10-string classical guitar.

Perf, as he is known to Filipino music fans, is best recognized as the original guitarist for 90s Pinoy Rock supergroup Rivermaya. Since his departure from the band he has added numerous credits to his wide and varied list of accomplishments; from producing platinum selling albums by Wolfgang and Marc Velasco, to lending his guitar wizardry to Pinoy Music Icons Mike Hanopol and Francis M, to garnering awards such as NU 107’s Guitar of the Year as well as from Philippine Music organizations Awit and Katha.

Since relocating to Southern California in mid-2004, Perfecto has pursued a career as a solo concert guitarist, performing Classical and World music on his unique instrument, the 10-string classical guitar. His recordings, 2007’s “A Journey through 10 strings” and 2009’s “CAPARISON” (PDC Records) are warmly received by fans and critics, celebrating Perfecto’s graceful and passionate playing that permeates both CDs’ diverse musical content.

When Perfecto is not touring, he resides with his family in Los Angeles, where he teaches next generation of guitarists and continues to challenge himself as he expands his repertoire with new musical ventures.

The breakup of KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual started up the rumors about Piolo Pascual being gay again. Frankly I'm sick and tired of this Piolo and KC news. The other day, I was watching TV Patrol and for that half hour the three major news event was former President Gloria Arroyo house arrest. The disbarment case against Sec. De Lima and the break-up of Piolo and KC. Guess which one had the longest airtime? To tell you the truth, what does it matter if Piolo is gay? Would it make your life better knowing that? Filipinos can be very judgmental about gays. On one hand, they accept them if they're comedians or beauticians. But other than that, they won't accept them and ridicule them. Maybe because they feel like it hurts the Filipino macho image. Who knows? Of course, there's this video going around about Piolo while watching the boxing match of Manny Pacquiao. Philippine Business Monopolies

Just read this article on Inquirer.net about Globe complaining that the PLDT and Digitel merger would create a monopoly. PLDT chair Manuel V. Pangilinan on Tuesday hit out at Globe, accusing the Ayala group of monopolistic business practices. “PLDT is not allowed to install phone services inside malls and real estate developments (owned by the Ayala group), despite the clamor from their tenants,” Pangilinan said, noting that Globe was allowed to offer telecom services in these areas. The Ayala group, through its Ayala Land unit, is one of the country’s largest property developers. It operates shopping malls in Metro Manila, Cebu and Pampanga. It's funny how these big companies fight don't they? They talk about the danger of having a monopoly but all these talk are just of course to protect their business interest.
