3 Cost Effective Ways to Solve Metro Manila's Traffic Problem

Image
The Facebook page of ANC 24/7 is asking for its reader's suggestion on how to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem. This got me thinking, "what is the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem?" It's easy to make suggestions, what's hard is the implementation and the cost of implementation. So what is the the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem and the most cost effective solution? Punitive Fines Add caption First of all, any implementation will definitely cost money, a lot of money. The cause of the traffic mess is the people themselves so it's only right that those causing the traffic problem should be fined and the fine should hurt. That way, the fines will pay for the cost of enforcing the law. The fines should start at P500 and goes up every week if you don't pay it within 15 days. To enforce this and prevent people from ignoring the fine. It will be tied to their driver's license or car registr...
I've been reading my best friend's blog http://iceberg0144.blogspot.com and it's both exciting and sad. Exciting because it's great that he's experiencing a lot of new things in his life. Sad because I can feel that he's lonely. Sometimes thing just don't work out in a relationship, but eventually, time will heal all wounds and we meet new people. Things may not happen as we want them to, but it could turn out to be the best thing that happened to us. Who knows, maybe things happen because we're destined to have something better. I remembered when I broke up with my first girlfriend. It felt like the saddest day in my life, but I moved on and now realized that if I didn't break up with her, I wouldn't have met my wife and have such a wonderful son. It's interesting, two of my best friends are both named Jonathan. They're both great people to talk to and although we don't get together that much anymore since we're all in different...
It's been a while since my last blog. I have been pretty busy with work and with my family since we went to China. Not to mention that I probably lost some momentum on writing after coming back from vacation. Why do we lose momentum and how do we get it back? It happens to me a lot of times. The two weeks before I leave, that's when I have business appointments left and right. Then when I come back, it takes a while to get my momentum back. It's been three weeks since I got back from vacation and I'm only starting to get back my groove. I'm actually at a better position than my previous vacations. It used to take me over a month to even get one appointment. I guess Zig Ziglar is correct, the day before you go on vacation is your most productive day. Why? Because you had a purpose, you want to get everything done before you leave so you have your full attention at what you're doing. So how do we get back on track? Get busy! That's all.

A lot of things have been brewing with Apple computer this past year. First the Intel Macs announcement, then they shipped the Intel Macs several months ahead of schedule and with dual core CPUs! Now that Macs are using Intel CPUs, a lot of people wanted to know if they can run Windows on a Mac since they are now basically a PC computer packaged under the Apple brand. Problems came up when it was found out that Apple was using EFI instead of BIOS to boot the computer, which Window XP doesn't support so it doesn't even boot. A contest was set up to see who can be the first to make Windows XP run on a Mac. A bounty was funded and last month, on March 2006, a solution was posted and the winner walked away with $13,000. The solution is posted on the OnMac.net website. Yesterday, Apple announced the beta release of Boot Camp . It allows you to dual boot OS X and XP. Unlike the OnMac solution, Boot Camp comes with a graphical setup and with no need to reformat your hard drive. It al...
Here's something from the Phil. Daily Inquirer. Senators calls for GMA to do a Thaksin. To do the honorable thing and resign as the Prime Minister of Thailand did due to protest on grounds of non-payment of taxes. Here's what the Palace officials said on why GMA would not follow on Thaksin's footsteps. "(Thaksin's case) has something to do with graft and corruption or non-payment of taxes. The charges against the President came out only when the wiretapped conversation of the President [surfaced] and the discussion became broader. The President has legitimate mandate and she will serve until her time is up," Ermita said." Ermita said the President might have been an adherent of Thaksinomics (Thaksin's economic strategy that has propelled Thailand's economy to higher levels), but "it does not mean that she was bound to follow what her mentor did." Claudio said the peaceful change in Thailand's leadership would boost the Arroyo adminis...
