Oh my, here we go again. It's always the same thing in the Philippines. Scandal here, politics there and the elections.

As they say, the Filipinos love to talk about PBA, Politics, Basketball at Artista.

The elections is coming up in 2010. You're not supposed to be campainging yet, so what do the presidential aspirants do? They set up TV commercial saying how they want to Philippines to be. No, they're not campainging, they're "informing" the public. They haven't official said they're running yet.

How else can they get their names in print and in the media? Well, thank God for Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili and their sex video!

Can you imagine? The Philippine senate actually investigated their sex video scandal? If I were Hayden, I would be honored to be treated to be that important! Who is Hayden Kho anyway? Some boyfriend of Dr. Vicki Belo, famous for doing plastic surgery for a lot of Filipino artist.

Who's Katrina Halili? A sexy actress. That's it. Does that warrant a investigation from the senate? Even Paris Hilton who was more famous than these people didn't even get investigated by the police in the US! It's hardly worth the waste of taxpayers money. But no, they had to investigate "in aid of legislation". My oh my...

The other day, I was watching TV Patrol and for that half hour the three major news event was former President Gloria Arroyo house arrest. The disbarment case against Sec. De Lima and the break-up of Piolo and KC. Guess which one had the longest airtime? To tell you the truth, what does it matter if Piolo is gay? Would it make your life better knowing that? Filipinos can be very judgmental about gays. On one hand, they accept them if they're comedians or beauticians. But other than that, they won't accept them and ridicule them. Philippine Business Monopolies

Just read this article on Inquirer.net about Globe complaining that the PLDT and Digitel merger would create a monopoly. PLDT chair Manuel V. Pangilinan on Tuesday hit out at Globe, accusing the Ayala group of monopolistic business practices. “PLDT is not allowed to install phone services inside malls and real estate developments (owned by the Ayala group), despite the clamor from their tenants,” Pangilinan said, noting that Globe was allowed to offer telecom services in these areas. The Ayala group, through its Ayala Land unit, is one of the country’s largest property developers. It operates shopping malls in Metro Manila, Cebu and Pampanga.
