3 Cost Effective Ways to Solve Metro Manila's Traffic Problem

Image
The Facebook page of ANC 24/7 is asking for its reader's suggestion on how to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem. This got me thinking, "what is the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem?" It's easy to make suggestions, what's hard is the implementation and the cost of implementation. So what is the the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem and the most cost effective solution? Punitive Fines Add caption First of all, any implementation will definitely cost money, a lot of money. The cause of the traffic mess is the people themselves so it's only right that those causing the traffic problem should be fined and the fine should hurt. That way, the fines will pay for the cost of enforcing the law. The fines should start at P500 and goes up every week if you don't pay it within 15 days. To enforce this and prevent people from ignoring the fine. It will be tied to their driver's license or car registr

Binondo - Land of Electric Post

If you live or travel in Binondo, one thing is certain, it's overcrowded and full of tall buildings. But not only that, it has the ugliest landscape in all of Metro Manila.

Why? Electric post! No place else has this much electric post in their city. It's in every corner! It's not just one electric post, it's 2 or more each corner.

There's so many electric posts that it takes up the whole sidewalks so that people have to walk on the street.

See for yourself.
Can you even make out this tangle of wires? Aren't those fire hazards?

How do they even figure out which wires to repair? Yes, those are probably telephone poles. But gimme a break! They should have buried them underground!

There's a lamp post, an electric post and a telephone pole. Where you do expect pedestrians to walk? Here they have to walk on the road. I'm not even mentioning the cars parked on the sidewalk. I thought sidewalks were for people.

Here's a wooden electric post beside a steel electric post. Couldn't they have just transferred all the wires to the bigger post? See where the pedestrian has to walk? On the street!

And you know what's more ridiculous? Go to Plaza Binondo, where Metrobank and McDonald's are located and see how many post you see there.

This is just pure greed on the part of the telcos and utility companies. Rather than spend money to hide these things, they just put a post anywhere they like with no regards to the health and safety of the people.

These things emit electromagnetic radiation don't they?
