Manila, Philippines - Then and Now

Looking at these pictures, I can't help but see the huge difference in them. Mainly, the amount of power lines that Meralco has put up all over the place with no regard for aesthetics. :)

Also, seeing there's no difference in how Binondo Church looks reminds me of what my grandmother told me that they stopped renovating the front of Binondo church because everytime they did, a war broke out. So they renovate the inside but never the outside anymore. I wonder if it's true.
