These are the wonderful things charities do.

I can't vouch for this particular charity, but please remember to give to a charity that is dear to you.

There are some guidelines on how to choose a charity. The most important is that the majority of the money you give goes to benefit those that need it and not into the administration of the charity.

Normally, it is best if their administration expense is less than 10%. There are expenses for fund raising, which is a normal course of running a charity, but these has to be reasonable with regards to the amount of money the charity receives.

One of the best way to determine how a charity does is by checking Charity Navigator. The website has a four star rating system to determine a charity's organizational efficiency and capacity.

Charity Navigator is U.S. based so it only evaluates charities in the US that has been granted tax-exempt status. It doesn't evaluate all charities. Religious charities, private foundations and certain types of charities are not evaluated.

Check out their website for information on whether your charity is evaluated or not. But do check out their website, if your charity is listed, you can determine whether your money is used wisely before you give.
