This got me thinking, "what is the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem?" It's easy to make suggestions, what's hard is the implementation and the cost of implementation. So what is the the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem and the most cost effective solution? Punitive Fines Add caption First of all, any implementation will definitely cost money, a lot of money. The cause of the traffic mess is the people themselves so it's only right that those causing the traffic problem should be fined and the fine should hurt. That way, the fines will pay for the cost of enforcing the law. The fines should start at P500 and goes up every week if you don't pay it within 15 days. The New Apple iPad

Apple has unveiled it's new tablet computer called the iPad.

It is basically a large iPhone with 9.7" screen, LED backlit IPS display, WIFI 802.11n built in, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and optional 3G radio.

All iPhone and iPod Touch apps runs on it unmodified. It runs on the new 1Ghz Apple A4 chip and includes 16-64Gb of flash storage. It's 0.5" thin and 1.5 pounds. Full capacitive multi-touch display.

They are offering the iPad with AT&T 3G for $14.99 for 250mb of data and $29.99 for unlimited data. It is also unlocked and no contract so you can move to any carrier you want.

It plays Youtube HD video and it also looks like the games on the iPad are smooth.

Prices start at $499 for the 16Gb model, $599 for the 32GB model and $699 for the 64Gb model. If you want the 3G built-in, it's an extra $130.

Perhaps the most exciting new feature is the iBooks store for the iPad. It combines the use of a netbook for web browsing, e-mail, photos, videos and music with that of an E-book reader like the Amazon Kindle.

The iPad takes it a step further by making a better e-book reader with full color screen with multi-touch feature. You can also change the font style and size on the books and buy them direct from the iBook store. You can also read newspapers like a regular newspaper on the iPad and some of the articles includes video as well.

Using the mobile Safari browser makes it a netbook with better browsing experience and using the iPhone's mail and calendar feature allows you to use it like a mega iPhone. It also includes Google Maps and I guess if you have the 3G plan you get GPS as well.

The new app that was made for the iPad is an iPad version of iWorks. So you have Pages, Keynote and Numbers. Each of the app sells for $9.99 each. So $9.99 for Pages, $9.99 for Keynote and $9.99 for Numbers. I'm not sure if you can attach the iPad to a projector but that would be awesome if you can wouldn't it?

The iPad can sync via USB to iTunes like a regular iPhone or iPod, Apple is also selling a new accessory dock for the iPad to make it stand up like a picture frame. Another dock is a keyboard dock.

Here's the live coverage from Engadget.

Apple also touts that the iPad's battery can last up to 10 hours and 1 month on standby. So you can watch a movie for the entire flight on one charge.
