Roxas, Sanchez scrap wedding reception

Sen. Mar Roxas and fiancée Korina Sanchez have decided to scrap their mammoth wedding reception at Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, on Oct. 27, in light of the recent calamities. The P3 million they would have spent on the reception will instead be donated to various relief operations such as Sagip Kapamilya of ABS-CBN where Sanchez is a broadcaster, Kapuso Foundation of GMA 7, Caritas Manila and Philippine National Red Cross.

Good call. More power to them for being mindful of others and not spend lavishly while the country is still recovering from the effects of Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng. At least they have delicadeza unlike some other people.
