This got me thinking, "what is the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem?" It's easy to make suggestions, what's hard is the implementation and the cost of implementation. Roxas, Sanchez scrap wedding reception

From the Philippine Daily Inquirer . Sen. Mar Roxas and fiancée Korina Sanchez have decided to scrap their mammoth wedding reception at Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, on Oct. 27, in light of the recent calamities. The P3 million they would have spent on the reception will instead be donated to various relief operations such as Sagip Kapamilya of ABS-CBN where Sanchez is a broadcaster, Kapuso Foundation of GMA 7, Caritas Manila and Philippine National Red Cross. Good call. More power to them for being mindful of others and not spend lavishly while the country is still recovering from the effects of Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng. At least they have delicadeza unlike some other people.

Fantasyland Philippines

A new theme park opened on June 9, 2009 in Dapitan City, Philippines. The theme park is called of all things, Gloria's Fantasyland . This is what it says on its website. "Gloria’s FantasyLand is composed of 35 rides comparable to the Disneyland theme parks." Get this, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer , Fantasyland was inaugurated by Gloria Arroyo. Also, Fantasyland is owned by Romeo Jalosjos , a convicted child molester who was sentenced for two life sentences but commuted by GMA . He was at GMA's side when the theme park was inaugurated. Talk about bad form. But then again, who are we talking about here? Too bad that the Filipino people have lost all their moral values which they use to be so proud of that they even put it in a beer commercial. Values such as " delicadeza " (sensitivity to other people's feelings) and " palabra de honor" (word of honor). Seems to me like all the Filipinos know now are "Sin verguenza ...
