3 Cost Effective Ways to Solve Metro Manila's Traffic Problem

Image
The Facebook page of ANC 24/7 is asking for its reader's suggestion on how to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem. This got me thinking, "what is the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem?" It's easy to make suggestions, what's hard is the implementation and the cost of implementation. So what is the the best way to solve Metro Manila's traffic problem and the most cost effective solution? Punitive Fines Add caption First of all, any implementation will definitely cost money, a lot of money. The cause of the traffic mess is the people themselves so it's only right that those causing the traffic problem should be fined and the fine should hurt. That way, the fines will pay for the cost of enforcing the law. The fines should start at P500 and goes up every week if you don't pay it within 15 days. To enforce this and prevent people from ignoring the fine. It will be tied to their driver's license or car registr...

Protest Against Lady Gaga Concert In the Philippines

Image
I just saw this photo about some people protesting against Lady Gaga's concert in Manila. They are saying that Lady Gaga is a bad influence and her song Judas is considered obscene. I also saw this article from Filipino Freethinkers on how Bible Youth Philippines is calling the concert blasphemous and wants it cancelled. Their leader, former congressman Benny Abante threatened to file a lawsuit if she sings "Judas". Even former Manila Mayor Jose Atienza agrees. It's unfortunate that in this day and age, we still have fanatic idiots who don't know the difference between artistic expression and devil worship. It's no different than some people calling to stop the selling of Diablo 3 .

PUP Student Protest

Here's the video showing the PUP Students who smashed chairs and desk protesting the 2000% increase in their tuition. What I'm wondering is, if they are angry of the huge increase in their tuition which is P12/unit going to P200/unit, why would smashing chairs and tables be the answer to that? Wouldn't the school have to replace those and wouldn't it take money to replace those as well? Where would the school get the money? Oh right, from the student's tuition! Dumb asses. There are better ways of protesting than destroying property. Destroying property just lowers your bargaining position. And they call themselves educated. That's the most uneducated way of protesting. I admire that fact that they want to fight against tuition increase. I have no problem with that. But they have to be both reasonable in their demands and how they protest. For P12/unit, what kind of education can you expect? Sure it's government subsidized. But haven't they heard of infl...
